Last night we (the Athenaeum Club) popped out to watch The Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Galaxy.

Not a bad movie, but not a great movie, either. Maybe 6½ out of 10. The editing was a bit odd, and the story disjointed. Performances were generally good though, and the special effects were splendid.

I doubt it will make my DVD collection unless/until it reaches about £6.99, or comes out with a great deal of additional scenes added back in.

Or both.

Both would be better.

I would happily pay to see the Slartibartfast and Marvin road movie, should they decide to make one. They should.

How quickly the mental map re-writes itself.

I lived in Clapham for fifteen years. It is just 10 days shy of three months since I moved north to the Athenaeum Club.

Today I left work early because my boss wasn't in so that I could vote and still get back to Whetstone in time for the weekly game. I got on the southbound Victoria Line and, in due course, was rather surprised to find myself in Brixton, having swanned past Stockwell without even thinking about it. Three months ago, auto pilot would have kicked in, and I would have been off the train literally with out a thought.

Ho hum.

Anyway. Vote cast, duty done. Home now. Tomorrow off. Election special tonight. All night. Hurrah.

Hope the local Whig candidate gets in. Failing that, the Leveller. Reminds me; must alphabetise the servants this weekend.
