Rattling along with writing
Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 01:02 amThe writing process continues.
I am slowly getting to the point where I shall need to start overhauling stuff I've already written to make sure it all gels. The trouble is in some cases, I expect the character to go in one direction, and it ups stakes and wanders off in quite another. This means that I have to re-think some of the others, some of whom I had hoped were putatively finished.
Oh well, c'est la vie.
The sense of writing in isolation is quite strong this time; I missed probably the most important of the two team meetings we've had and I don't seem to have quite caught up, yet. This is annoying. I'm not sure why I feel off to one side; I'm no more isolated geographically than other writers, and considerably less so than one at least.
Oh well, ever onwards and upwards.
As usual, I shall concentrate on making sure my bits of plot line fit together, and work in the important linkages as and when they occur. Three first drafts down; seven to go. Then come the second drafts and additional bits.
Remind me why we do this?
