I am hot, I am bothered and I keep coughing and sneezing.

This is rarely a good sign; I was OK when I woke up, but this last hour or so I have been feeling progressively more manky. This morning we had a divisional away morning, an odd affair that took us to a big room in Admiralty Arch where we were under-supplied with coffee and croissants. This is no way to provide a substitute for a missed breakfast.

My only input was to provide a two minute overview of Housing Subsidy; something I have been unable to explain to some MPs over the past 7 years in ever-increasing detail. Cursory suggests more detail than you can get into two minutes. The rest of the morning was a struggle to stay awake and look interested.

I am wondering if my currently increasing cold symptoms are down to the fact that we walked back from Admiralty Arch across St James' Park. I hope not; we passed some very vindictive-looking ducks. I don't think any of them sneezed on me, after all, if a duck felt like I do, it wouldn't be wandering around coughing at people, it would be curled up warm somewhere.

Anyway, how dim do you have to be to let a duck sneeze on you?
