Wednesday, March 8th, 2006 03:55 pmI am unexpectedly chuffed.
I have just been handed an envelope marked personal, which can sometimes be a matter for great trepidation, but upon opening it I find that I have been awarded a special performance bonus. It’s not much, just £250, but in the civil service even managing that is almost impossible given the propensity to cut budgets rather than just slop money around as in the legendary days of yore which seem to have ended the day before I joined up.
I shall treat myself to something pointless. I don’t know what yet, but I shall enjoy thinking on the matter.
Still chuffed.
