Well I suppose you've wondered where I've been and why I've not updated since Thursday?

No?

Pah. Some friend you are, I could have fallen down the stairs and injured myself and comforting thoughts such as "I haven't updated on LJ for minutes. They'll know something is wrong and send help" would have been entirely wasted.

Just for that, I am going to fill you in and I'm not putting it behind a cut, so there. See if I care.

Friday was another day off. My annual trip to the Oval to watch the second day of the Test. This year, England v Pakistan with the series already won by England. This, thought I, will be entertainment - an entire day in the sun and open air, watching Test Cricket and the chance to watch England put the Pakistanis (figuratively) to the sword. Aha, yes. But indeed, no. Pakistan forgot to read the script and played some devilishly good cricket against a mediocre England side. The sports lover in me should applaud this, and to an extent it does, but England were just plain rubbish. I have seen sharper butter knives than the England attack. I wasn't overly worried that much of the play was lost to rain, but when I found myself dozing off in boredom during the actual cricket itself...

Early evening was spent in the pub with [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle, [livejournal.com profile] sackboy and [livejournal.com profile] romney, but cut comparatively short by the knackeredness of Yours Truly. Back then, the The Athenaeum Club pausing only to pick up pizza.

This morning I awoke to find myself cold and duvetless, though that was easily rectified. Perhaps more worrying was the fact that The Furtle regaled me with stories of her latest dream which involved firing a missile through the roof of a space ship while I navigated it with and Ordnance Survey map from the comfort of an armchair installed next to the pilot. This not being odd enough, it seems the world is under the control of a secret cabal of Spacehoppers.TM

I am sure she will be able to explain in more detail in due course.

This evening was spent at the Barbican for the London reception of [livejournal.com profile] maisiecat and Hayden's wedding. Nice to see them again, and a number of friends I see all to rarely.

And now, to bed.

See, things happen to me when I don't update. Not necessarily interesting things, but things nonetheless.
