Let's be careful out there

The world is a hazardous place and today is proving the truth of that to me. Not in any major, earth shattering way, but in petty annoyances and inconveniences. Any hint that these things are self inflicted will draw the Baleful Glare^tm.

Annoyance the first:

• Impressed by the speeds I was getting on the torrents for Battlestar Galactica episode 9, and having downloaded just under 48% in 20 minutes or so, I decided to look at the seeders information log. For some reason the tracker took exception and threw me out for two hours and now I'm back on, I can only get between 6 and 10kBs download speeds. That means that instead of 28 or so minutes to grab the remaining 52%, it is going to take around 10 hours. Of course the time of day doesn't help: torrenting is best done in the quiet hours, but even so.

Annoyance the second:

• Whilst fiddling with the sock on my left foot, I felt a short but almost entirely painless 'snap' in the middle finger on my left hand. The sort of feeling you get when someone snaps an elastic band against your skin, nothing more. I now have a plaster around the very end joint on that finger to keep it straight. I can bend the finger joint, but not straighten it back out properly, so the plaster is providing some support, helping hold the finger straight and reminding me in the absence of pain, to be careful of the joint. I seem to have snapped a small ligament and there is no tension on the very end of the digit. Mind you, it is VERY handy for hooking around things and dragging them towards me.
  
  I rather hope that ligaments grow back by themselves. I don't fancy having a quack tie a little knot in it for me.
