caddyman: (Strangelove)
Hmm, still a month or so until Easter. I could do with some time off now rather than in a month’s time. I don’t want to burn off individual days at the moment though, because I may need them if I have to go winging up to Shropshire at short notice (though that seems to be increasingly unlikely; having balanced Mum’s observations with my Sister’s, I think that Dad isn’t in quite such a hopeless position as I may have been lead to believe). That said I should try to get up and see them soon for an extended weekend if nothing else. Apart from which, being a bit of a softie, I want to meet the newest addition to the family. I don’t know what’s happening at Easter this year, either. The circumstances are rather different to what they have been in the past and it will require some thought as to how things proceed.

I have a bit of a headache at the moment and this is making it hard for me to concentrate on anything properly productive. It seems to me that we need to introduce the concept of the siesta into British working life: we can all come in as usual, but have a couple of hours’ kip in the afternoon. I’d be happy to hang around a little later in the evening to make up for that.

I have just received an intriguing text from Miss Furtle suggesting that she is suffering from mild culture shock. Intriguing but uninformative.

Back to the grind, I suppose.
