Bank Holiday so far
Sunday, April 8th, 2007 02:42 pmBank holiday weekend and it's hard to find anything to do other than slobbing around the Athenaeum Club whiling away the time. Money is in short supply at the moment and everything other than staying in seems to cost. The weather is lovely and there is the faint feeling that we should be out and about taking advantage of it, but unlike the countryside, there is little about the London suburbs that invites a person to just go out and roam.
Still, on the bright side, I get to spend time with My GirlTM without the bother of work tomorrow!

telemeister are doing the sights this afternoon; we could have joined them, but somehow sight-seeing's just not quite the same when you live in a place.
We went out for a meal last night at Al Fresco on the High Road, which was very nice, though we did get the trainee waiter.
In the meantime,caffeine_fairy and chomper99 popped up for the evening . They, colonel_maxim and we sat and nattered over wine and cider until around 1am, which was nice. We shall have to arrange to do that again sometime soon, though we will have to give some thought to the transparent, liquid-filled, flashy-eyed rubber frog they brought along and which seems to have delighted ellefurtle beyond reason.
Tomorrow is an early start, around 5am as we prepare thetelemeisters for their return to Californie, though I reserve the right to collapse back into bed once they are breakfasted and despatched! Tis the curse of the trans-Atlantic flight.
