Didn't sleep well last night. It was hot and we'd dozed too much during the day, yesterday.
The alarm was most unwelcome, but at least I am awake now: both Furtle and I were roused from our torpor by the fire outside! I staggered to the other end of the bedroom to turn the alarm off (it was on my phone, which had been on charge all night) to see great clouds of brown smoke billowing up from the street outside. It was directly outside so we couldn't see properly from the bedroom window. Disappearing downstairs to
colonel_maxim's computer room we were able to see the abandoned bus outside with very impressive flames shooting out of the engine compartment.
I managed to get back upstairs to pick up my camera and take a couple of pictures, but by then the fire brigade had arrived and the flames were out, though the smoke was still billowing with impressive thickness. The battery to the camera is now flat and on charge, so if the pictures are any good I shall post them up later this afternoon, when I get back from work.
