Monday. Hurrah!
Monday, October 6th, 2008 11:48 amA nice cool, crisp autumn morning, with the sun shining and only a slight breeze; later in the year this is the sort of day that will have the puddles of rainwater frozen in that way that was so amusing when we were kids – break the ice to find a big gap between the ice layer and the water. It’s cool enough to generate dragon breath, but not so cool as to feel cold.
This is my favourite kind of day.
The weekend, by and large has been very relaxing and enjoyable, though the weather while we were at home could have been better. Of course that’s the way things work, isn’t it? Good weather at work, terrible weather at home. Someone has a sense of humour.
Of course, the fun of the weekend was muted somewhat by the knowledge that we are trying to implement our healthier living regime from today. I have, therefore, immediately started feeling hungry, though there is no reason why I should, having had a proper breakfast. That’s the power of psychology for you. At the same time, poor Furtle has had to take the day off, feeling unwell after something we ate last night took its revenge on her. Oh, and I forgot to bring my sandwiches to the office, too. All in all, not the best start, but we soldier on.
