The knee continues to irritate and Furtle's foot is also poorly, so we looked a right pair when we went to Finchley this afternoon. Where in normal times we would walk, we took the bus there and back. Perhaps less healthy, but also less painful. To make me look even more like a character from a Hammer Horror, I have had a stye develop on my eye since coming home yesterday. It felt irritated last night and was gummed shut this morning. I have used eye drops and bathed it a couple of time in Optrex and it is on the mend - eye infections rarely last long - but the whole eye is very red, bloodshot and half closed and streaming like mad. Even more so while I was limping along in the cold wind this afternoon.
Just call me Egor.
The Carpathia will have a Christmas tree this year; the first I have had in 25 years. We bought an artificial tree last week at Tesco, along with some decorations. Today we bought more and alonf with the Christmas lights we have acquired over the past couple of years I venture that it will look rather festive once the tree has been erected and dressed. I think left to herself, Furtle would have the tree up in the living room right now, but I have somehow managed to exercise the option of vetoing the idea until Advent weekend - rather the weekend after it, because I think next weekend is Advent weekend in reality, as that is at least in December.
It's really rather chilly outside and getting more so now it's dark. I await the foirecast snow with bated breath.
