Friday already

It's Friday afternoon and our holiday seems to have evaporated; without wishing my life away, I would like it if work weeks passed so quickly.

Last night in the quiz, we won - that's two wins in three weeks and Furtle's team came second last week when I was standing in to ask the questions. Of course, at no point have we actually won the money. I am quite capable of selecting the wrong envelope as many times as I pick them. Still, it does mean that another £25 bar tab is there for next week, so that will be a cheap evening again. It has been good to have [livejournal.com profile] budgie_uk along for the last two sessions and he has furnished us with a number of answers we would not otherwise have managed. Sadly, I have yet to have a proper chat with the chap, for one reason or another, but he seems to have enjoyed the quiz both times around.

A little later on today I may nip down to Camden for a look-see around Mega City. As I have mentioned before, this is a cheap way of maintaining my interest in comics since I rarely buy anything from them - I can never work out their system. I doubt it's a difficult one, but it baffles me.

In other news, I am waiting for an email from a comic book artist, having been put in touch by [livejournal.com profile] _tonylee_. Provided they are not too expensive, I hope to be able to purchase a page (maybe two) of artwork from Doctor Who: The Forgotten that I am particularly fond of.

Where do these strange people on Twitter come from and why do they decide that I am someone they should follow, particularly as I never add them back?

I have blocked a couple of obvious robots, but others seem as they may be genuine people who use Twitter's advertising links to generate a little revenue here and there, but if I never visit their links or add them as someone to 'follow', where is the money?

I quite like Twitter in its own little way, but I do find Twitterings posted to LJ to be pointless, so you won't find me doing it (even if I could fathom out precisely how).
