Where's the signal I pay for?
Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 12:23 pmBoo, the mobile intarwebs in the Victoria area don’t seem to be working. Well, certainly not in the steel and glass monstrosity I am sitting in. Theoretically there is WiFi here, but although my iPhone is linked to it, the signal is rarely strong enough to creep past the desk lip where the router is.
Despite being in central London, the building effectively blocks the 2G signal and severely weakens Edge, too. At the moment Edge isn’t doing anything other than registering its presence, it is far too precious to let data down to (or up from) my iPhone, so there we are. Technical wizardry shown to be a fraud.
I’ll nip out for sarnies shortly and see if the 3G outside the building is doing anything, or whether I am back in 1995 again.
