Well it may still be yesterday in California, but it's just slipped over to tomorrow now in the UK, so happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] telemeister.

All aboard the Skylark, Ladies and Gentlemen. All aboard.

As promised - or threatened, depending upon your point of view, here is another and this time last reminder of the challenge I issued here a month ago yesterday.

A number of you said you'd bite, so now is the time to do so, if you are still interested.

A quick reminder of the premise: a ghost or horror story in 500 words or less, inspired by a song lyric. That's it. The rest is up to you. I already have four stories submitted, plus my own. It would be nice to have a couple more at least and many of you out there are fine writers, so give it a whirl.

I'd appreciate it if you would email me the song details at [bryan dot lea at gmail dot com] so I can include a poll asking people to match entry with inspiration. Don't forget to leave the story unlocked so that people who are not on both your and my friends list can read it when I link to it.

If you are not on my friends list and have happened upon this accidentally and fancy having a go, please do; just leave me a comment so I know where to find your story for the link.

As usual, this is cross-posted to and from [livejournal.com profile] just_writing largely because I can't bring myself to acknowledge that the community is moribund through lack of interest.
