I am trying to decide whether I want to spend a couple of quid over the ton for two of us to go and see the Moodies at the O2 Arena (that's the Millennium Dome to you) next September. (How's that for forward planning?).

Dilemma over.

We will be at the O2 Arena on Saturday 25 September 2010 to see Messrs Hayward, Edge and Lodge.

That is all.

Bloody Commute

Well this morning g could have gone rather better.

I arrived at the Tube Station to find that all Northern Line services between Camden Town and High Barnet were suspended because of signal failure at the former. Marvellous. I’ve used the busses before to get in to work and it takes a couple of hours. It’s not so bad if I can get the bus to say, East Finchley and pick up the Tube there, but Camden is rather further along and there are no direct bus routes from Whetstone.

Having emailed work with the glorious tidings, I wound my way back up to the High Road to wait for the bus. Initially I intended to get the 263 to North Finchley and change to the 82 which would drop me down to Victoria in some geological period, or as it occurs to me now, at Golder’s Green on the delayed but not suspended Edgware branch of the Northern Line. That would still take ages.

Then along came a 34 to Walthamstow Central, via Arnos Grove. That seemed like the best bet; both of those are on Tube lines other than the Northern. I made the mistake of consulting Transport for London and discovered that the Piccadilly Line was disrupted, so I stayed on the bus as it swanned past Arnos Grove. This was a tactical error made by someone with little idea of the suburban vastness that is North London. I really began to think that the journey would never end, but when I eventually got on to the Victoria Line, the trip was fast and smooth.

There appeared to be a part deflated Michelin Man outside the station, which on closer inspection proved to be an überchav in the baggiest white shell suit I have ever seen. I had hoped they were extinct, but they cling on amongst the fashion retards of Walthanstow…

I feel that I have paid some kind of karmic penance today.
