It's Friday
Friday, January 22nd, 2010 10:54 amSo last night I went to the quiz and played as Todd Sloane as I was on my own (geddit?). Poor Furtle was suffering the ravages of the week and decided to stay in where it was quiet, and go to bed early. Although I am not entirely sure she did turn in quite as early as she intended – the lure of World of Warcraft may have been too strong.
If only I watched more non-genre movies. Who knew that the characters, Mr and Mrs Danny Murphy featured in the 1993 film, Indecent Proposal? Well, quite a few, actually. But not me. So I came second equal and lost the play-off because my random shot at the number of antagonist nations in WW2 was slightly wider of the mark than the other person’s. And who one earth has heard of the Banana Spider? (I am expecting a "Me! Me!" from
ginasketch on that one).
Never mind, there’s always next week.
I’m not quite sure what it betokens, but I noticed a significant increase in the number of cybermen wandering around this morning. For the past umpteen years, the majority of worker drones have been wired for sound, but there seems to be a new fashion for wandering around wearing huge and showy headphones instead of ear pieces or those discrete ‘around the back of the head’ earphones. As the MP3 players get smaller, the headphones are getting bigger. Maybe it’s the cold weather? Do they double as ear muffs?
Onwards.
