Lennon's on sale again
Friday, April 30th, 2010 01:53 pmFollowing Golden Gordon's election car crash in Rochdale yesterday, when he was recorded in his car calling pensioner Gillian Duffy a bigot, unrelated events have meshed together yet again, to provide a marvellous cartoon in today's Times.
Sotheby's in New York are to auction a hand written copy of the draft lyrics to the Beatles' classic A Day in the Life as sketched out by John Lennon, before the middle eight was added by Paul McCartney. Last time it was sold, in 1992, it brought in £44,000. In June, in New York, it is expected to top $1,000,000. And because it is that precise song, and because of the events of yesterday, Peter Brookes of The Times was able to do this:

Serendipity.
