It's going to be horrible today. Apparently yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far, but that was just the run up for today. Buggrit.

Even with the bedroom windows open and two fans on, it took me ages to get to sleep last night and I woke up more than once. Still, it will give me the chance to perfect my zombie impression at work today. I think it's forecast to be around 28 degrees in London today. I'm not quite sure quitehow warm that is, but I believe it is somewhere in the eighties Fahrenheit, the proper measure of temperature. Me no likee.

On Saturday, we went to Suffolk for [livejournal.com profile] kt_peasant's birthday bash, where we saw a number of chums we hadn't seen for ages. [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle particularly, bumped in to a number of people she hadn't seen for ten years or so. My record was four years. We had a really splendid time, the only sad bit was that several friends I was hoping to see, didn't make it. Never mind; next time maybe. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jfs for undertaking the driving duties.

It was about three in the morning when we got to bed after the jaunt, necessitating a lie in on Sunday morning.

Chores were few and far between yesterday, though we sorted out a few books to take to the charity shop ahead of the move in a few weeks' time. That was less painful than we thought it would be. The laundry dried pretty much instantly outside in the sun and we came close to killing the chilli plants with kindness when we decided that a little sunlight might do them good. It doesn't - not direct, burning sunlight anyway. Bilbo, my Madagascan Dragon Plant however, enjoyed it immensely. I believe he was wiggling his roots in pleasure in his pot. The rose seemed happy enough, too. Marigold was ambivalent.

Right. I better get dressed and think about going to work.

Who got up at 5am to watch Lost? Did it make sense?
