Not enough or too much caffeine. You decide.
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 10:50 amWell, good morning, everyone. I’m back in The Smoke after a long weekend in Shropshire to see the family. I would have tried updating from there, but my sister’s intarweb connection is being switched to Sky and they (Sky) are taking their own sweet time over getting it sorted. Shropshire being what it is, I was limited with my 3G connection, too. My iPhone managed to wander through a full 5 bars 3G, down through EDGE to WAP and then not even a phone signal at random points over the weekend without me needing to leave the comfort of the sofa, so I confined myself to reading LJ and making the occasional entry on Farcebook.
On the way in to work this morning, my phone bleeped, alerting me about the arrival of an email. Upon investigation, I found that it was a message from Twitter telling me that I am now being followed by @BrumEnts, which inevitably had me summoning up mental pictures of Treebeard playing a neon violin for The Electric Light Orchestra. “Hurrroooom, Haaa, Mr Blue Sky” and all that sort of thing. It then led me to wonder which football club he would more naturally follow: Aston Villa or Birmingham City. I have not resolved that question to my own satisfaction, yet, though the thought of the Holte End at Villa Park covered in trees sporting pale blue and claret football scarves is an appealing picture. I suppose there is an outside chance he might go for one of the Black Country Clubs, but probably not.
Upon reflection, I daresay that the woodwind section of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra might be more his style. Imagine that complete with a full Huorn section.
