World of Warcraft

It seems to have taken ages, but finally I’ve managed it.

Over the past couple of months, whenever I have logged into World of Warcraft I have spent much of the time back in Northrend building faction rep from the quest chains I ditched when my character reached level 80 and I jumped directly to the newer Cataclysm areas.

You see, I wanted to build myself a Mekgineer’s Chopper for occasional posing (largely because few people use ground mounts nowadays when you can pretty much fly everywhere). In one way it’s a bind revisiting all these old areas, picking up low-level quests just for the rep, but on the other hand, it’s quite fun soloing on what was designed for a group. When you’re level 85 you’re nails, see, compared with levels 77-80. Anyway, last night I got the last increase in rep I needed, hot ‘exalted’ status with the Alliance Vanguard and immediately went and picked up the plans and materials to build the chopper.

As luck would have it, the Guild has just rolled up another level itself, so we now get a 10% discount on purchases from vendors, so with rep discounts as well, it cut the price from mind-buggering to simply astronomical.

What to do when you’ve just acquired a natty new Chopper? Put on your best guild tabard, your Admiral’s hat and go on a road trip around Azeroth!

Here is a postcard from The Barrens with a nice full moon and hoardie camp in the background.
