And that's that...
Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 01:14 amThe theory is that as long as I stay awake, I'm still on holiday.
Sadly however, reality intrudes and I shall be off to bed very shortly so that I can go to work tomorrow. I enjoyed about half of my extra day off; the weather brought the remains of our car-damaged fence down and it's clear that we will have to spend money putting it right. We really should get it sorted. In the meantime, it's held together with string. String tied to the water butt, string tied to the thickest part of the base of the trunk of the jasmine bush in the huge planter out front. Hopefully that will hold the disintegrating panel in place until we can replace it and whatever else needs fixing out there.
So tomorrow: back in the office. There are three months left before the system I have worked on since 1999 is legislated out of existence. Then, apart from a decreasing amount of legacy work, it's all change.
That will be good; I need a change at work and I already know that I am assured a job when things change. I just don't know yet what it will be.
For God's sake: it's almost exciting!
