Despite living in London nigh on 30 years, I am still a Shropshire Lad at heart and I try to keep an eye on what's happening in the county by looking through the local news on the web. With that in mind, I am rather surprised to find that Shrewsbury has hosted an annual international cartoon festival each year since 2003. That's ten festivals and I have only heard opf it for the first time today, two days after the latest finished!

Although the festival in Shrewsbury itself has closed for the year, there are a number of exhibitions around the county over the coming months and all are free:
