Every now and then I discover something and find myself wondering how come I never heard of it before.

Despite living in London nigh on 30 years, I am still a Shropshire Lad at heart and I try to keep an eye on what's happening in the county by looking through the local news on the web. With that in mind, I am rather surprised to find that Shrewsbury has hosted an annual international cartoon festival each year since 2003. That's ten festivals and I have only heard opf it for the first time today, two days after the latest finished!

Although the festival in Shrewsbury itself has closed for the year, there are a number of exhibitions around the county over the coming months and all are free:

Flights of Fancy
Over eighty new cartoons about Flying – originals and quality signed prints – produced and selected specially for the annual Festival themed exhibition. A great opportunity to see a range of interpretation, styles and humour and to buy high quality professional cartoon art at affordable prices.
