The New Bug
Monday, September 10th, 2012 11:49 amIt being his first Monday in the job following the reshuffle, we have been informed that the new Monster is making his Royal Progress around the Department floor by floor to allow the serfs to bask in the glory that is The Presence.
I am probably being unfair. On a personal level he is likely to be a reasonable bloke, but the general background of what this lot are up to suggests that we will have more guff to deal with in due course. I know very little about the chap other than he was one of the junior ministers, probably a Parliamentary Undersecretary rather than a Minister of State over at BIS (Department for Business, Innovation and Skills – the quondam Department of Trade and Industry and before that the Board of Trade). So this little number will be a promotion for him, though I doubt that he knows what a council house actually is.
The main thing that I am aware of is that the spell checker doesn’t like his name. I shall have to add it to the list, particularly as I have some stuff to send to him in due course.
And I finish off this particular with the observation – now that I’ve seen him after writing the last paragraph- that he is a medium sized, quite dapper and consummately anodyne on the subject of his new portfolio.
