Tech update

I still don’t have my new computer back from Aria. They had it back on 4 April after it died mo me while I was trying to load the graphics card drivers.

I understand that they are in the final stages of testing it, having done stuff to it. I was given some spiel that sounded not unlike they are just knitting the motherboard, or something equally bizarre. I guess it might have been the motherboard that fritzed on me. Certainly the machine lost all ability to speak to the hard drive and therefore boot up.

I don’t blame the engineers for hardware failure, these things happen, but it seems to be taking an exceptionally long time to sort out. If I don’t hear from them soon, I shall have to look at my options under the Distance Selling Regulations.

It doesn’t help that Furtle has subsequently bought herself a bouncy big iMac and I am frankly jealous of it. It was about three times the price, mind…

Oh well. In the meantime I struggle on with her old machine, which is reliable if slow.
