Fire Drill

I am refreshed.

I sloped into work a little late this morning, not having slept well with toothache. My favourite painkillers, paracetamol and codeine didn’t touch the pain and I had to wait a while before topping it up with ibuprophen. A couple of doses of that and a treatment with clove oil before coming out this morning means that the pain hath left, albeit temporarily. The upshot is that I felt, to put none too fine a point on it, shit travelling in to work this morning.

But, having logged on, we were immediately treated to a fire drill (sadly before I had had my first coffee, but into every life, etc). Now back in the office, I find that the end of the fire drill segues directly into elevenses, so I am treating myself to the long awaited coffee and a couple of hobnobs. The main point, however, is those 20 minutes standing outside in the fresh air and the sunshine mean that I now feel somewhat refreshed. I am still very tired, but I do not actually feel ill.

Bonus.

As it happens I had my digital camera in my pocket; I don’t know why, but it did mean that I managed to get a photo of the apartment block across by Westminster school that had a mannequin standing at an open upper floor window. Either that or it was a bald, armless mute thinking for help.
