An excelent idea, which could be further embelished with the use of a piece of crystal (skull shaped if possible). Just make sure you scan any newcomer to the room with your crystal lense to make sure they are not a hollowed out corpse being used as a disguise by an agent of the Undead Martians of Atlantis.
