Twelfth Night

This fellow is wise enough to play the fool;
And to do that well craves a kind of wit:
He must observe their mood on whom he jests,
The quality of persons, and the time,
And, like the haggard, cheque at every feather
That comes before his eye. This is a practise
As full of labour as a wise man's art
For folly that he wisely shows is fit;
But wise men, folly-fall'n, quite taint their wit.

So is there a meme going around wherein one has to quote Wordy Will the Wanker?

Anyone would think you didn't like Shakespeare! Watch a play or two, rather than read them: far better.

The meme, had I done it properly, would have said sommat along the lines of slap down your favourite Shakespeare quote.

I remember we were dragged to see a play or two of an evening, when we were at school. So my parents paid good money for me to be as baffled in my own time as I was for free on school time - arf!

Thing is, if it's done properly, Bill's stuff is excellent, but it'sm not for the incompetent director. I wouldn't damn him on the basis of the drab versions we saw on those school trips.

I've seen a few RSC productions and they have been excellent. The comedies were actually funny and one of the actors got a standing ovation after delivering his comic monologue!

Yeah it must have something going for it if it's still watched, performed and enjoyed by thousands in this day and age, but I just don't get it.
