Furtle has spent a large portion of the morning getting ever more annoyed and frustrated in her attempts to make the scanner work and then to share files between computers. She has made far more progress than ever I did, but then she is willing to expend far more nervous ebergy on the project than was I.

It's still not sorted to her satisfaction, but it does all work after a fashion.

The upshot is, that the picture that I found that started it all up has now been scanned (and cropped).

Imagine, if you will, Bryan aged 19 mucking about with his mates in college halls of residence (for the benefit of oldnick, who attended the same place around the same time as me, though we knew it not), I believe the picture was taken in a friend's room in Randall Lines House sometime in the winter of 1977-1978. I still had hair (though with a pronounced five head, exacerbated by the fact that it is combed back into a DA here), being a callow youth and was literally only about 2/3 the man I am now. I'd give anything to be that weight again (short of putting any effort into attaining it).

The last 30 years have not, I think, been as kind as they might have. I give you Bryan the rocker, placed behind the cut for your sanity and bandwidth:

pretty obvious that you lot are no good at working out the age of a photograph - how you gonna research your family history if you can't date photographs by the clothes of the subjects! pah! To us experts it is soooo 70s right down to the droopy look of the shades
