We woke up this morning to find that our internets were broken.

After a great deal of random fiddling, including switching the router on and off, rebooting PCs and cursing, the problem seems to have fixed itself. I hate it when stuff randomly gives up and then starts again. I do, however, think that it may be time to buy a new router. When Furtle woke up and came into the computer room, the router was entirely dead despite being plugged in both to the power and the home network.

Unplugging it and plugging it back in again got the power back, but a great deal of generally aimless fiddling was needed to get the internets back, though the home network seemed OK. It didn't help that every time I tried to fix it, something entirely different seemed to be the problem.

On balance, I might have been happier before I knew what an internet was.

Hello, by the way. Hope you had a splendid Christmas.

Some routers try to remember everything and their brain gets full and they fall over. Usually we have to switch the power off and count 20 seconds so it forgets everything and then switch it on again - sometimes we have to do that to the broadband modem too. That's modern technology for you.

To think they travelled to the moon and back using the equivalent of the Atari. Gosh we've come a long way sice then HAhahahahahahaha
