Pretty Flowers

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, Furtle and I met up on the way home on Thursday so she could show me the flowers in the small park next to Embankment Station. In the 25 years I've been in London, I've never as far as I can recall been in that park before; it's just another of the little gems the city keeps to itself.

I only had my phone with me, so the pictures aren't as good as they could be, but here goes:

Tulip!

Not a flower, but Robert Burns. Apparently while I was fiddling the angles to get this one, a youth of about 15, sitting on the steps below the statue was watching me and pulled something not unlike the Hubble Space Telescope out of his bag. I didn't see him and apparently he gave the look of disappointment that only someone hoping for a comment on his superior technology could display.

Sir Arthur Sullivan and a distressed female admirer...

I must have missed Rabbie down at Embankment.

Although there's also the monument to the Camel Corps there too (if I remember right).

Sorry, forgot to add - nice shots too :)

Glad you like them - they should be a bit bigger if you click on them.

And yes - the Camel Corps are there, but I didn't upload the photo to my scrapbook.

Oh you should go there more often! In the summer they have jazz bands and the Japenese just up the road does fantastic sushi!

Nice photos. Even though I do not share your particular fondness for tulips they are a fantastic swath of colour

I occasionally take a lunch-time constitutional around this little park for a change of pace and remind me of the change of season.

Hello!

If you click through the links enough times, the pictures come out quite big! But you probably found that already!
