I must stop taking days off after elections. Not because I don't like taking days off, you understand, but there is growing evidence that it has some impact upon the political stability of the country in general and the jobs of our ministers in particular!

It seems that Margaret Beckett has got the sack in the reshuffle, if the BBC is to be believed. At the moment we are swapping out Secretaries of State ever 18 months and Ministers of State every 6. The kiddies in the junior positions seem to be on slightly more solid ground, The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State positions have fared rather better, but in the current climate, who knows?

So. Sir Alan Sugar as Enterprise Czar, eh? Lord Amstrad perchance?

Caroline Flint resigns. Was she still at your department or did that change ages ago when I was asleep?!

No she was replaced by Beckett back in November...

Have I just read the news aright and Paul Murphy (quondam Welsh Secretary)has quit the Cabinet directly after being appointed to it? Can't be right, surely?).

Ah, it seems to be fog of war stuff. I shall look at it all more closely tomorrow after the dust has settled.

I'll happily "reboot" Lord Dodgy Git if people ask nicely {grin}

Alan Sugar, a man who was very lucky, invested wisely, coasted on one product for years (after a series of horribly crap products), sold his business and went into telly?

Yes, he's a good choice.
