We have watched the entirety of 24 season 5 over the weekend. The best season since the first, I think. We will take a few days off from the series before blitzing season 6.

I have hoovered downstairs and taken the laundry out to dry. I am toying with the idea of nipping to the O2 shop in North Finchley to see about upgrading my mobile - the call of the iPhone is strong - but I may deny myself that pleasure for a while longer on the off-chance that the much-rumoured announcement by Apple takes place. Who starts these rumours and on what basis?

Furtle is Warcrafting; if I manage to stamp down on the desire for an iPhone for long enough to render the point moot for today at least, I may do some drawing.

I am at a bit of a loss, but not actually bored. It's an odd, in between sort of feeling.

It's not a rumour, at least not an ill-founded rumour. Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone this week, and it's expected (ok, this one is a little less well-founded) to be available in around a month's time.

I'll be waiting for the response from UK providers, specifically the announcements from O2 as to whether (a) they've still got the contract (there are doubts) and (b) whether they're going to do what they did a year ago, i.e. allow existing iPhone customers to upgrade early...

I used to get that feeling when [livejournal.com profile] ephraim was warcrafting.

It seems to me then, that there's really no point in me waiting for it - any new iPhone won't be available on free upgrade, unlike the current iPhone and since I don't fancy dishing out the requisite golden splonders, the current model will probably do me.

I shall leave if for today, though, and see if the release of the new model does anything to the upgrade potential of the old one...

If your existing contract is within a month of expiration when the new iPhones are available AND they do what they did last year (no guarantee, obviously), then yes, the lowest spec iPhone WILL be available for a free upgrade.

When I say lowest spec, of course, I'm still talking about a 16Gb machine, twice the size of my current one.

My contract expired back in November - unusually for me I didn't notice; I quite like my Motorola V9, but the keys on the left side are becoming a bit spongy for texting now.

Naw, we like to do our own things some afternoons, it's nice. Time together, time separate etc.

It's annoying though isn't it, when one person has something they are busy with and the other doesn't. I find being bored worse when I can see someone else who isn't, it's true :)

Rumour no more
