Having turned back the Afrika Korps Gaddafi Loyalists at the gates of Benghazi, the Eighth Army Rebels have pursued the retreating forces back to the gates of Tripoli.

Supply problems that affected the one side are now affecting the other and Rommel Gaddafi’s forces have successfully defended the approaches to the city and are now pushing Auchinleck’s the rebel forces eastwards once more.

Not a lot changes in 70 years, does it? This will just yoyo along the coast for eternity at this rate.

Which is just as well, I guess, because we will probably end up bombing the rebels if they start picking on pro-Gaddafi civilians.

Not only have I bin calling him Gaddafi duck (glad it isn't only me) But yeah, with names like Tripoli and Tobruk popping up on the news one is reminded of previous battles in the land of the lotus eaters.
