I have to say that I enjoyed the Doctor Who mid-season finale.

It was a bit of a slow burn, setting the pieces up for the big (not entirely speculation-free) reveal and the opening of the second part of the season, which we will have to wait until September for. The title of that episode is almost worth the price of admission in itself: "Let's Kill Hitler"

Oh, and... "Did someone call for a nurse?"

"Let's Kill Hitler" is indeed a fine title.

It was a bit Star Warsy* to begin, but I did like the suggestion of these other stories going on - could there be a spin-off akin to Jago and Litefoot?

* - as opposed to timey-wimey

I have to say that this series is shaping up to be an absolute corker.

There is some very, very fine, multi-faceted writing going on here which is laying down layers of story that can be explored for seasons/years to come.

This series is awesome I just wish we didn't have to wait another three months to continue the ride...

...Oh yeah and:

"Thank you Parker, I won't be needing you again tonight."

"Yes Mi Lady."

I've been enjoying recent episodes. They have a very different feel to them. Sadly, Mal is becoming very Dr Who curious and recent episodes are completely impenetrable to him. Ho hum. I guess you can't have it all. We bought him two small Dalek figures instead, which he thinks are called "garlics".

Genius like that means that they won't be impenetrable to him for long!

I think this season hangs together much better than last, which while better written than many from RTD's period still had annoying and pointless plot holes.

This season has been excellent and while I agree that the pirate episode was the weakest, I still enjoyed it. I could have done without the silly ending for that ep, though.

Did you get that animated gancing Matt Smith I sent you a couple of weeks back via LJ Messages?

His gralics are more terrifying that the real things as he also believes the non-plunger arm to be a magic wand...

Indeed, why would you not watch something with that title.

I only watch DW on and off but I've liked these ones, even when the stories weren't great they had a good atmosphere. I saw a 15 minute excerpt from one of teh later Tennant ones the other day and it really looked like a different show, a slightly more amateurish one to be honest but I couldn't tell you exactly why.

I did bemoan them going for someone so young with Mr Smith but I have to say I think he's brilliant.
