I'm melting....
Wednesday, July 10th, 2013 10:36 amThere was some mad bastardy taking place on the roads of Ilford this morning. I blame the heat, though I don’t know why. They are quite capable of mad bastardy in any weather. I guess it’s just because I can blame one more thing on this bloody weather.
Don’t get me wrong: I like the sunny weather, but I prefer it to be a few degrees cooler and rather more breezy. To be honest, unless I’m sitting in my garden, or a pub beer garden, I prefer fine, clear, sunny but cool weather. I am not disposed by genetics or physical form to enjoy the weather when it gets too hot. I have inherited from my Mum an inability to cope with relentlessly high temperatures (bear in mind that I’m only even talking about UK high temperatures here), or more precisely humid and high temperatures. We just wilt under it and get hotter and hotter. Add to that the fact that I am still shipping far more tonnage than is strictly advisable and well, you get the picture.
This evening after work we have deferred leaving drinks with my old division. At the moment, I am not entirely up for it. I mean I’ll go and all, but I’d prefer to get home and chill out in the garden. The past few days we have had our evening meal out on the patio in the cool of the evening and I am developing a taste for it. With luck we shall manage it again tonight, but only if I’m not too late or blootered.
Anyway. I better crack on and do some work, or something that approximates to it.
