I hope this works – I have had the Devil’s own job trying to post these up from various devices! I’m afraid that I’m not sure that these two attempts qualify as ‘enhancements’ – the original picture has too much noise on it (hark at the techie jargon!), possibly because of the quality of the photo you scanned.

I’ll have another go if I can locate a decent (and not too expensive) photo-editing app for the iMac.

Oh wow. They're amazing! I'm impressed - the original photo was so faded that I really didn't think it could be improved. I have one that my great-grandfather had written on, but the writing is too faded to read - perhaps you could have a go with that one? Thanks so much for doing this, Bryan.

Anyway, I'm glad you like the results, I was unable to do anything with what I suspect is a crease in the photo, below the eyes and across the cheeks, plus there's a blemish that makes her mouth look much wider than normal.
