The writing process continues.

I am slowly getting to the point where I shall need to start overhauling stuff I've already written to make sure it all gels. The trouble is in some cases, I expect the character to go in one direction, and it ups stakes and wanders off in quite another. This means that I have to re-think some of the others, some of whom I had hoped were putatively finished.

Oh well, c'est la vie.

The sense of writing in isolation is quite strong this time; I missed probably the most important of the two team meetings we've had and I don't seem to have quite caught up, yet. This is annoying. I'm not sure why I feel off to one side; I'm no more isolated geographically than other writers, and considerably less so than one at least.

Oh well, ever onwards and upwards.

As usual, I shall concentrate on making sure my bits of plot line fit together, and work in the important linkages as and when they occur. Three first drafts down; seven to go. Then come the second drafts and additional bits.

Remind me why we do this?

If it's any help, I'm having a miserable writing and editing day and have barely had time to do anything today, hence the late postings. Because of a logistical screwup, Pete's sheet is still on my works desktop half-edited where I left it at 11am today when the wheels fell off my plans for the week. I'm watching my free time evaporating like smoke because of work and any chance to get any more original writing done seems very remote at the moment.

I'm going to be in Luton quite a lot over the next couple of weeks by the look of it so I may swing down to see you if I get the chance.

I know precisely what you mean. Before Christmas I was consoling myself with the thought (borne from experience) that January would be quieter in work.

Well, it was last week. Today I've seen what we're expected to get done by Easter.

Welcome to swing by as always, though I'd prefer not to be in the pub - but I guess if you're driving down from Luton that won't be a problem.

Let me know if you want lunch (or beers or evening meal) in Luton. I'm here during the week at present.
