Cathy Gale would have got a second vote, but really, there's only one answer.

Synchronicity - I got my 1967 season DVDs back off Tim last night. I went to sleep watching Mrs. Peel. You're channelling me again, Bry.

however, i really liked Tara King as the other half.

yeah ... so i'm a freak.

There's a lot to be said for Miss King, who, when I was at the ripe old of age of 10, I fancied rotten in that 'don't know why but she's luvverly' sort of way.

But Mrs Peel is the all round finished article, as I'm sure you'll agree.

Wot no purdy?

Cor Lumley, but to be fair Mrs Peel would still get my vote.

Ms Lumley was and is, of course very nice.

But THAT series has been airbrushed from history by all right thinking people.

I own it, all 7 DVDs. Watching it in comparison to the classics such as The Hellfire Club and The £50,000 Breakfast really shows just how far you can fall in 10 years.

Absolutely.

A friend of mine used to have a car with the registration along the linhes of PUR ... D. His trailer was called Gambit because it just followed along aimlessly with no will of its own.

Still, for all its faults, THAT series was infinitely better than the unmentionable-by-name attempt for the Silver Screen.
