In other news, being unavoidably detained over the weekend, I was unable to make The Great International Telectroscope Wave 2008.

It is gratifying, however, to see that my pith helmet, waistcoat and two of my frock coats did make the trip and it appears that a splendid time was had by all.

[livejournal.com profile] colonel_maxim models three of the four. Stylish.

Do the gee-gaws that Dave is holding belong to him ? If not are they yours ?

They're not mine. I expect that they are borrowed, like all of Dave's kit in that picture.

Purchased in Kabul, of course. Where else would you buy naval sextants, compasses and some rather nice replica field telescopes.

Damn! How much were they, we're doing a brasspunk style gang at Maelstrom at the moment and such propery would be great if the price was right and you were ok with being our 'mule'. : )

Two of your coats?

Your pith helmet did prompt comments and compliments from the American contingent - I've put up links to some of the other bits from the weekend.

Ser Townsend modelled my multicoloured frock coat, black and silver waistcoat and pith helmet. Ser Crowther modelled my Victorian frock coat, which is why it looked a little large on the fellow.

I saw ST in your Prog-coat.
But I'm not sure who SC is.

Silly me. Of course, I should have known!

Chap with red goatee, top hat with goggles, it was he who seems to have organised the phoning of NY.

Ah, yes, you mean [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel's other half?

I don't know about organising the call - the NY contingent held up a sign to say "Call xyz", and he had the requisite tech.

That's the chap aka [livejournal.com profile] bytepilot now I think on it. Purveyor of talking brains in tanks and maker of brassy oddments of intriguing purport.
