Ooo me aching foot

I am clearly getting old; I think I have rheumatism developing in my left foot.

It's not in the ankle or toe joints, so I doubt it's arthritis, but there's something there. It doesn't hurt when I rest the foot, but flares up as a deep, deep throbbing ache when I walk, to the extent that I have been getting pains in my calf muscle and odd wear patterns on the sole of my left shoe as I unconsciously favour it. I think someone has moved the keystone in the arch of my foot.

Of course, after a few minutes of walking, the pain wears off and all is well again. Until I sit or just spend a few moments standing. Then I have to warm the foot up again.

And some days it's fine all day; no hint, nary a squeak of pain.

I haven't yet quite worked out if any of it is weather related. I think I should invest in a small barometer and compare pressure changes with the flaring up of my gammy foot.

If there is a correlation, I shall log them and learn which level of barometric pressure delivers what level of ache. Once perfected, I shall buy a corn-cob pipe and deliver stentorian pronouncements on the forthcoming weather in an exaggerated Mummerset accent.

May as well enjoy an affliction.

In the meantime, everyday is Walk Like A Pirate Day.
