Dear God, it's Monday morning already.

It's been a busy weekend.
We disappeared off to Reading (or just outside therof) for
snorkel_maiden and Tom sans LJ's wedding. We were treated to the taxi driver on the way from Reading station to the hotel regaling us with his opinion of London's conjunction charge, but he was friendly enough and we decided it would be rude to correct him.
I wasn't sure how much fun I would have, since the only people that I knew in advance were the bride and groom, plus
maleghast. The first two of course were clearly busy - it being their nuptuals and all, while the latter was taking the photographs, so I had visions of me sitting quietly screaming in the back of my head whilst quietly maintaining a fixed smile. In the event, I got to talk to some of Furtle's old chums and it all went well. Furtle particularly had a good time catching up and was even moved to shake a tail feather on a couple of songs - particularly one by Queen.
I am rather envious of Olly's new blue tee shirt presented to him as part of his 'thank you' gift by the bride and groom: This shirt is only blue when I'm thinking about Dwarves. I may have to try and find one for myself.
Back home today and of course we managed to be absolutely knackered with little weekend left. Furtle snoozed a while this afternoon, but I stuck it out. I know what happens if I try to sleep in the afternoon: every ten minutes of successful dozage is repaid by half an hour's wakefulness in the wee small hours.
This evening we watched the first episode of season 3 (who would have thought it would still be going?) of Primeval on ITV2. Not great sci-fi or Sci-fantasy, but passably entertaining. Interesting to see the slow in-creep of Stargate SG1 with the Egyptian mythology angle. Of course, that's a sure-fire way of getting nerds wetting themselves.
We also caught up on, whilst inadvertently missing the latest episode, of The Number One Ladies' Detective Agency, a BBC/HBO co-production, set in Botswana and based upon the novels of Alexander McCall Smith. Highly entertaining and quite refreshingly different. I don't know how accurate the presentation of the local culture is, but it seems nicely done and it's equally fun to have something other than the usual UK or US - based dramas we get spoon fed.
Oh well, it's getting late - even by the standards of this new-fangled BST, so I shall turn in.
This week promises to be another busy one, so I should imagine that posts will continue to be sporadic.
Ciao4now, dudes.
