A misprint in a cookbook costs Penguin Books dear in Australia.

Sometimes something can be funny and cringe worthy all at the same time. It appears that no-one has complained and I can understand, having proof-read myself, that it is hard to pick up mistakes where the actual words are properly spelt. You just glaze over after a while. So you can probably forgive the proofreader, but someone should look at the spell checker/grammar checker in the software used to compile the page.

If it happened here, there'd be a media/political scandal. Yawn-o.

Best. Misprint. Ever.

Well, apart from the unfortnate "TV Cult" one, and that probably never happened.

doesn't it seem odd that the word people was thre instead of pepper? Is it my suspicious mind? would someone deliberately put that word into a publication just to reveal it at a later date? Would someone about to lose their job for whatever reason do something like that to the owner of the publication?
My mind goes back to one of the early editions of White Dwarf that was published just at the time that Games Workshop were to move to Nottingham and not take everyone with them. Someone cleverly made the initial letters on the contents page spell out the words "Sod Off Brian Ansell" They waited until the mag had been distributed and then leaked the information....

If the words sound right, it's really easy to overlook these things. I remember in LJ support, I typed "losers" instead of "users," but only once - well, at least only once that I SAW. :P
