Winding down...

caddymanFriday afternoon and there is a ‘while the cat is away’ feeling here today. The Deputy Director is away and the deputy Deputy Director is at work, but not in the office and not likely to be so, being off on a monitoring visit, or something. Even my gaffer is looking to slope off early.
It’s been a long week – mind you, I thought it had been a long week by about 11.30 on Monday morning. I shall be glad to slope off, close the door at home behind me and generally make rude gestures to the outside world until Monday morning.
There is a general agreement, I think, that we should hide indoors as much as possible, do a few unavoidable chores – laundry and hoovering and spend the rest of the time pootling around and relaxing. I can do that. And I am soooo tired. I blame the combination of excruciating boredom in the office in combination with the temperature fluctuations our climate is throwing at us right now.
And anyway, I’m skint. Not to the point of being completely boracic, you understand, but with GASPs coming up at the end of the month and Christmas soon after…
