caddymanWell, I got in late because of work. Missed the quiz - luckily only a friendly, so not important (as important as things get, anyway), but it did involve letting the rest of the team down. Grumble. I fancied a pint or five too.
Never mind.
Happily I had the presence of mind this morning to set the video for SG-1 on Sky, so I watched that an hour late. Good episode. And my, my, but isn't Major Carter built when she gets to wear an evening gown? There's some serious stackage going on there which is but hinted at by her habitual US air force camos...
Down, boy.
After calming down a little, I rattled out an entire page of the Archmage Remigius character sheet for NWO 5. Considering the amount of thought I've given to this character over the past months, he is dictating a different view of himself to me. It will be interesting tomorrow night, if he continues in the same vein. Isn't character development a wonderful thing? No, really, I mean it.
I could write a little more tonight, but frankly I'm too tired. Rattling off LJ doesn't require the same effort: it's much like talking out loud (except for the mechanics of typing, obviously!) whereas writing a character sheet is a combination of creation and dictation - occasionally you have to contradict the character because he's adding his own, incorrect, gloss to his memories.
Christ, that sounds pretentious, doesn't it? But trust me, if you've ever written one of these character sheets, there are just times when the character may as well be recounting his memories to you, so when you know better, you just have to set him straight.
Old Remigius is clearly in a contemplative mood tonight. Tomorrow he'll most probably have snapped out of it and the customary determination will be back.
And yes, I am aware that this makes me sound like a basket case.
