Mushroom Ketchup

Much to Furtle’s horror and annoyance, it seems that Mushroom Ketchup is becoming more difficult to find than ever on our manor. This time around Tesco had none in stock for the monthly grocery delivery and there appears to be none on the shelves in Sainsbury’s. I had a look in the Sainsbury on Victoria Street and there didn’t appear to be any in there either – though to be fair, I suffer from most blokes’ product blindness when I go into a supermarket.

I found the Worcester Sauce and had been told by Furtle that it if wasn’t near that, they wouldn’t have any. Well it wasn’t near that. Or if it was, I didn’t see it.

I have to confess that I’d never heard of the stuff before we got together and personally don’t use it except when directed, in cooking. Furtle on the other hand, would have it ion ice cream I suspect, if she thought about it.

How can there be a run on mushroom ketchup? Has the world suddenly rediscovered its existence and bought it all?

I saw that earlier after I'd written the post but was waiting for LJ to wake up.

It shows the stuff is available, but unless we buy it in bulk, the postage makes it a little too expensive!

Have you tried the Tesco iPhone app (if one near you)? Shows in stock and exactly what shelf in my local store.
