What kind of Beatles fan would I be if I forgot to mark John Lennon's birthday?

He would have been 71 today:

Since most other people who do this sort of thing will probably use the over exposed and rather over appreciated 'Imagine', I thought I'd go for something else, "Watching the Wheels", one of my favourite tracks from Double Fantasy

I never liked john that much. I always thought he was an arrogant twerp. My preference was for George and he was the closest to me in age ~sigh~ I confess to dreaming of him visiting my home and falling in love with me - I was only 16!

I liked George's solo recordings best after they split. He didn't do so well as the others simply because he shunned the spotlight.

Aren't you a multi-millionaire ?

Seconded.

And Imagine *sigh* it's twaddle and if anyone else had written it (and not died shortly afterwards) it would be openly judged as such. I mean, how could he with a straight face sing "imagine no posessions".

Well he recorded Imagine in 1971 and was murdered in 1980, so hardly shortly afterwards.

It's not a bad choon, but it is hopelessly idealistic and lost a little impact by coming from someone quite so rich. I like Watching the Wheels better, possibly because of less exposure.

Fair enough on the 'shortly after', my mistake
