Weirdly stuffed walrus

caddymanYesterday it came to my attention that such a thing exists in London as the Weirdly Stuffed Walrus in the Horniman Museum, south east London.
It dates from the 1870s when a taxidermist was given a walrus to stuff, but no instructions on what a healthy animal should look like, so he just stuffed it until the skin was full. Apparently in real life, you can see where the blubbery folds should be, but no; it is sadly inflated.
A wonder of the age
I consider that this is something we should take time out from our busy schedules and investigate at some point. For those no au fait with the homely and wondrous walrus, they should look like this:

Of course, London has its fair share of odd and alternative museums: thus. At some point I really must make the effort to go and see some of these wonders.
