Well, that's my wing-collar shirt arrived. My 'costume' preparations are now complete.

In the great scheme of things, I'm not sure it actually is a costume per se rather than just finery from a bygone age, but there we are. The Edwardian gentleman at large, complete with frock coat and cravat. On the day itself there may be some creative shaving around the physog, too.

Since masks are de rigeur, I have a mask, though I am no fan of them myself, even a domino gets in the way, pinches the nose and feels uncomfortable. Still, it looks the part.

While we were acquiring items yesterday, I had to talk Furtle out of the Thor's Hammer/Bandana of bullets combination for her costume. I mean obviously it's a classic combination, but not, I think quite right for the remainder of her costume.

In other news, there is a cold stalking the Gin Palace. I'm not sure that I have it yet. I feel a little congested, but there is no sore throat or constant sneezing. Furtle on the other hand has a voice that suggests she smokes cheap Cubans by the truckload.

Totally with you on the mask thing - but it seems that we are in the minority in our social circle. I guess that's roleplayers for you.

I agree, they look nice but are uncomfortabel...plus they stop me wearing my specs and being able to see so mine won't be on all night !

That said, I have found that leather masks are far lighter/more comfy than the more traditional ones.

I'm trying to picture Furtle popping Fidel Castro in her mouth and setting fire to his feet.

I am intrigued by Furtle's plans.

We finally fisnished tittivating/adding accessories last night. The mask is not the only uncomfortable thing I shall be wearing - expect a certain amount of costume alteration/removal (easy people, not in *that* way) by the latter stages of the evening as I will not have my dancing ruined by not being able to bend/walk easily : )
