Well, despite the screaming Evening Standard headline, war hasn't actually broken out yet, but I rather expect it will do shortly after 1am when the ultimatum expires.

I doubt that there is anything that can stop it now, past the eleventh hour. We'll see.

In the meantime, my attention has been taken by the fact that someone has been filming something on the street outside. Up until about an hour ago, I could sit in my garret with the lights turned off, basking in the flood lit glory that is an open air soundstage. I have no idea what they were filming, or indeed for whom, but I shall carefully watch every piece of crap broadcast in six months time to see if I can recognise our street what in what will undoubtedly be a ten second clip.

I could have nipped out and asked what was going on, but a) I am too lazy, b) don't really care, and c) my friends in the meeja of whom I have none, tell me that such behaviour is incredibly gauche.

I doubt that either of my contacts in the Beeb will have the slightest clue as to what was going on, so I shan't bother asking them.

This really is a pointless post, isn't it?

Changing subjects entirely, work is arse at the moment. I have so much to do that I just sit in front of the telly giving a creditable zombie performance when I get in. I am soooo bloody tired all the time, it isn't true. Concentration is impossible.

And if I try going to bed early, I lie awake staring into space.

I need an extension to a number of deadlines. I think I shall have to be nicey nicey to Mr pax_draconis and crave indulgence for a couple of weeks' overshoot past our agreed deadline. I'm buggered if I'll let this knackerdness stop me finishing the evil naughtiness I've got planned for the player scum. lovely folks who play our games.

Oh well. Time to stop moaning. A line or two at least will cheer me up.
