What makes it all the more surrealistic, apparently a lot of the escaping Ba'ath high-level people were stunned to discover that their exit was blocked by the non-existent Coalition forces. They apparently completely believed in this fellow's transparent propoganda!
Of course the Coalition has plenty of propogandists, but at least they're not blindly believed by anybody.
This was Paxo's 'joke' in the BBC2 Newsnight daily email yesterday:
Finally, no-one knows what's become of Saddam Hussein. But apparently all his lookalikes were summoned to see that comic turn of an information minister this morning. "I have good news and bad news," he said. "The good news is that our great leader is still alive." Relieved that their jobs were secure, the roomful of moustaches heaved a sigh of relief. Finally, one of them asked, "And the bad news?" "He's only got one arm," said the minister.
